Sometimes you just have to love the news. Lately, MSM has been providing comedians and Right Wingers with a LOT of material. Like this clip from NewsBusters:

Yes, I know it has a laugh track and the delivery isn’t what you’d call “spot on” but it’s not bad, and it’s funny. And frighteningly, pretty much true. I found this video on the NewsBusters website after following a thread from Ann Coulter’s blog. Instantly, I hear ranting yells from liberals declaiming my sources, even though my lonely blog is generally only read by search engine indexing programs. The thing to consider is the thing liberals have been claiming for years: the ideology of the source doesn’t mean it’s information isn’t true.

Back to business: the NewsBusted website was featuring a piece on hyper liberal journalist (cough) Rachel Madow, pointing out that she was taking part in some crazy finger pointing by linking a PR firm’s outdated association to a video comparing Obama and Hitler (which actually isn’t as far-fetched as it seems). Madow responsibly corrects her assertion, then immediately maligns the same PR company for a completely unrelated and obtuse connection that is, regardless, meaningless. And then proceeds to malign NewsBusters for being part of the Right Wing Conspiracy to silence liberal dissent. Pot and Kettle, big time.

Of course it’s the core of the communist liberal agenda to silence opposition, so we shouldn’t be surprised, but they must be getting nervous. They’re in full-on panic mode and making some ridiculous mistakes, probably from realizing that they have even less traction than they thought.

An update on the political landscape: Obama’s approval has dropped yet again (47% “somewhat approve”) despite an aggressive Town Hall/damage-control campaign headed by the POTUS himself. Not looking good for health care reform (now being referred to as “health insurance reform”). Sarah Palin has made a lot of waves in the press by pointing out “Death Panel” fears in the language of the bill, and the media has been going nuts calling conservatives out for “lying” and using “fear tactics”. Whatever. The liberal defense fails on a number of levels. Michael Moore or one of his cronies on moveon.org cites an AP article as evidence that there are no death panels in H.R.3200. Someone should explain to them that AP is a vomitorium of press releases intended to solicit newscasters and not a source of indisputable fact. They suggest you read the bill for yourself and point you to one section that they claim is responsible for it all.

I don’t think these people actually read the articles though, because neither Palin nor other members of the loyal opposition ever said the bill mandated death panels, only that the environment promoted by the bill leverages power to the government to make decisions for end of life care based on cost. The language is dangerous in several places, and combined with former legislation and extremely disturbing comments made by POTUS Health Care Adviser Ezekiel Emanuel, a major proponent of rationed care.

POTUS himself said something similar:

But liberal Dems insist it would never force an end of life decision. I have to wonder, because the bill’s authors are apparently removing a significant amount of the language that spanwed the whole death panel thing in order to give it a better chance of passing. Admission of guilt? Maybe.

Even supposedly neutral sites like OpenCongress.org (which I otherwise like and support) have jumped in on bashing opponents of the bill. The only reason that doesn’t upset me more is because most of the posters on OC are kids who’ve apparently been raised on a heavy liberal diet. I get the feeling that the site was started by liberals who are now freaking out because the majority of its users are conservatives in opposition to the bills that the site’s staff obviously favor. Can’t say I’m surprised, but I’m disappointed.

Just wrote to Keith Ellison, my Senator, and told him to vote no on H.R.3200. I don’t expect it will do any good. On page 1 of his website he has a video statement, followed by a cherry picking of his “colleagues” all declaring how much they are in support of and want to pass this healthcare reform. Frankly I’m having a hard time believing his fervor, as he votes 97% with his fellow Dems anyway. He’s a party pony, period.

Contrast this with the OpenCongress.org website where only 16% of the people actually support H.R.3200. Either the site represents an accurate political landscape and politicians should sit up and take notice, or it’s the conservatives who are actually trying to learn the issues while liberals are letting their lawmakers tell them how to think.

Read the content of the bill here. Or read the cartoon below, they say the same thing (Democrat tactic, shhhhh).

In this video’s comments some people call Bachmann stupid, but she’s just quoting the ones who are attempting to set policy via H.R. 3200. So does that mean, by association, they’re actually calling those people stupid and Bachmann is in the clear?

Somehow I don’t think it’ll work that way. A lot of people still believe Sarah Palin thought Africa was a country, even though the perpetrator of that hoax came out in the open months ago.

I just finished my morning blog read and came across two gems that I need to preserve. Leigh Scott posted on Big Hollywood about Obama’s recent comparison to Star Trek’s Spock, upstanding him with Sarahcuda as Capt. Kirk. Fightin’ Joe Biden was ranked as both a Tribble and Crazy Doc Brown from Back to the Future, though I think the former is more apt.

Second, a YouTube post by comedian Jackie Mason caught my eye. Right on, Jackie.

It’s really pathetic how hard the Obama administration is pushing for Cap-and-Tax despite huge numbers of Americans in opposition to it. That’s what it is to live under a Socialist regime, and if it leaves a bad taste in your mouth now, just wait until they clear a few more of the bills they’re rushing through Congress.

Healthcare is the next big ticket item, and very few people really understand the issues at stake. Pres. Obama keeps saying there will be plenty of competition, that we’ll retain the option of private healthcare, however on page 16 of the bill there is a provision that makes new private insurance policies illegal. Sure, you can keep your current plan, but you can’t change it and if you ever lose it you’re forced into the Gov’t. option.

Is that so bad? In a word, yes. Here are two very real looks at what we can expect from socialized medicine (yes, I know the first one is a satire):

Been a while since I updated this site – not that it makes a huge difference considering the non popularity of this blog, but I thought it appropriate to record this for posterity. Take a look at the new poll results from Rassmussen: Obama’s ratings are dropping now, down another 7 points. Just 51 percent somewhat approve, 48 percent disaprove.

This is on the edge of a lot of new junk being maneuvered in Congress and the Senate including the Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade and healthcare reform, neither of which are popular among the majority of American voters and both are being forced through legislation before anyone can even read the bills.

I’d like to say I’m thrilled about the gradual decline of Obama’s administration, especially this early in his presidential run, and the fact that America is waking up. But I’d rather be proven wrong. The fact of the matter is that Obama is not likely to change his policies based on what voters want, and continue to speed onward, out of control on the hubris express.

What is that going to mean for me, for my family? Nothing good. Not without a miracle.

Well, praise God that He specializes in miracles. We can use one just about now.
